The Sabine River Authority, which controls the flood gates at Toledo Bend, is responding to angry residents over the recent historic flood. Many residents say the SRA waited too long to open the flood gates, causing the flooding to be worse. SRA officials say they followed guidelines which were put in place when the reservoir was built…and that weather forecasts do not affect the decision of when to open the gates.
