A local high school football stand-out has been killed. 22 year old Darius Edwards, who was a star running back for the LaGrange Gators, was shot and killed in Hempstead, Texas. Local sheriff’s officials there say Edwards was shot several times while attending a large party. LaGrange Head Coach Jules Sullen said Edwards was one of the best athletes he had the opportunity to coach. After graduating, Edwards went on to attend Prairieview A and M. The shooting occurred near the school’s campus.
