Garth Brooks Returns to New York for 2 Sold-Out Shows

Garth Brooks is taking over New York City—again. On Thursday (July 7) the megastar attended AOL Build for a live chat about his sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium taking place this weekend (July 8 & 9).

Garth sat down with Huffington Post editor, Lauren Moraski, to talk about the upcoming shows, his 1997 Central Park show—that boasts over a crowd of 1 million fans— his new Sirius channel and so much more.

“What this place [New York] has taught me— which is really crazy and I should never believe it because the second I do it’s all going to fall apart— but they have convinced me that just being myself is OK,” Garth says in the video. “Which doesn’t make any sense to me, whatsoever. They’ve always treated me like I belong here. You can see the way I dress, the way I talk, I’m not anywhere from here but I gotta tell you, they have made me feel like son of this place [New York].”

Garth will be playing two sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Friday July, 8 and Saturday, July 9. The Yankee Stadium show will be his first in NYC since his 1997 Central Park performance.
