Once Again, Brad Paisley Digs Deep Into His Own Pockets to Help West Virginia Flood Victims

In June, West Virginia native Brad Paisley launched a GoFundMe campaign in an effort to raise money for victims of the devastating floods in his home state that killed 23 people and destroyed an estimated 1,500 houses. After Brad’s initial donation of $100,000, the campaign is closing in on $700,000 of its $1 million goal. Now, Brad has donated $250,000 for the construction of new homes.

On Saturday (Aug. 6), a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 42 homes and a community park for victims of the flood was held in White Sulphur Spring, W.Va. The construction project is courtesy of Homes for West Virginia, a newly created partnership with local stakeholders and New Orleans-based SBP, a disaster recovery nonprofit group founded after Hurricane Katrina. Homes for West Virginia announced Saturday that Brad made an initial donation of $250,000 for the project. The project’s total fundraising goal is $20 million.
